Wanting to see if there is enough people who would be interested in taking a USPSA Competition Class. Below is more information on the class.
Requirements for Class
Syllabus: The syllabus and level of the class is determined beforehand. I have a list of things I usually cover, and a list of
things I can cover, depending on what you want. There isn’t enough time to cover everything, so we have to work
together to come up with the best lesson plan for your group. I will provide some training materials for students to take
with them. I cover a variety of the following topics, depending on what you want covered.
Accuracy
Draw
Reload
Grip/Stance
Shooting on the Move
Position Exit/Entry
Moving Targets
Specialty Gun Handling
Stage Breakdown, Programming
IDPA Specific Skills
USPSA Specific Skills
Equipment Setup
My goal is to show people how to practice. I want you to have a plan for improvement when you leave the range.
Venue: A facility that allows for moving and shooting within the bays. For a one day format class I generally like 3 bays,
but I can get by with fewer bays if need be.
For a 2 day format class, I generally like to set up an entire match. 3+ bays is what I like to use for that,
with all the props to go along with it. This means to do a 2 day format class I would like to have access to a full range
of USPSA/IDPA match props.
Class size: For a USPSA or IDPA class, I need 8 students (maximum 12) to put on a class. I only accept people who have been
in the sport long enough to be classified (unless they get prior approval from me).
For an Advanced class the minimum is 4 students with a maximum of 6. The drills in these classes are more
complicated and the round count is higher. Generally, I want all the students in this class to be a solid B class or higher.
Cost: The per student fee depends on the number of students and travel time and expenses. Generally it cost $350 per
student per student for a 2 day format and $225 for a 1 day format.
Equipment: Required Range Equipment:
- 10 USPSA or IDPA targets per student
- Pasters or Tape
- Target Stands
Additional Equipment Preferred:
- Swingers, Drop Turners, and other movers
- Steel Pepper Poppers
- Walls and Barricades
- Barrels
- Fault Lines
- Shooting Boxes
