And it is now on the front page of the website.
The tentative plan is to start up in february on the second Saturday, taking over that day from the air rifle match.
For anybody that has any questions, we will be more than happy to try and answer them in this thread.
The best thing about Steel Challenge is that you can shoot rimfire. This means it is the perfect thing to start out a young kid on. Plus there is little to no movement(i.e. run and gun), so if you happen to not be able to shoot IPSC/USPSA, you can shoot this.

Okay, update time.
The steel has been ordered and the check is in the mail.
The company has the steel ready and is just waiting on the check.
It will be shipped on a pallet weighing 1,650 pounds total. It will be shipped via Roadway/Yellow Frieght to their facility in Texarkana. When it gets to Texarkana we will need somebody with a 3/4 ton pickup or good heavy duty trailer to pick the pallet up. We will then need some people to meet up at the range to help unload the steel into the old stat shack.

I can help, just let me know when you have an idea when it will be in. I have a 10 ft trailer that should be able to handle the weight if there isn't another option for getting it out to the range.

Just got a reply from the owner of the company. Our set is being prepared and is on schedule to be shipped on Monday.
There will be a tracking number to follow the pallet from PA to Texarkana.

The company recieved the check on Saturday. They are finishing up our set of steel and should have it shipped out today or tomorrow, with tomorrow being more likely.

The steel is safe and sound in the old stat shack.
There is still work to be done before we are ready for our first match. Wood needs to be bought and cut, stage layouts need to be made, score sheets printed, and lots of spray paint.

Cool deal! I'm sorry I didn't stop by the TGC page before or I would have loved to come help unload. I hope yall had enough help! I am looking forward to the Steel Challenge! I think it will be pretty cool! I have watched a few videos on youtube and some shows on Shooting USA, it looks like it is very family friendly!! I do have a question for those in the know: - after shooting a string and you "unload and show clear" the rules read as follows. I am not familar with all rimfire auto-loaders, but with most this is a no-no! Looking forward to next season!! Thanks for any info!

JJ,
Usually in my experience in Longview, we will check for a clear chamber and then let you engage the safety on the pistol instead of pulling the trigger on a rimfire.
If(and its a big if right now, still much to do) I get everything together, I want to try and put up two stages the weekend before the first planned match to let anyone who would like too to come out and get a taste.

I'm going to try and get with Richard this week(or weekend) and get the lumber, paint, and stuff to make stage layouts(rope and metal washers). After all that is done all we would have to do is get some score sheets printed. I have one printed up, but I want to see the sample score sheet from the Steel Challenge website first before we decide on what our score sheet looks like.
